Mike is a graduate of Southern Methodist University
in Dallas, Texas, and holds an undergraduate degree
(B.B.A.) and graduate degree (M.B.A.) from the Southern
Methodist University Cox School of Business Administration.
Graduating in the upper 1/3 of his graduation class,
Mike has a double Major in Accounting and Finance with
a Minor in Real Estate Administration. He is a member
of the National Association of Enrolled Agents (NAEA)
and is active in the Florida and local chapters as
well.
Mr. Brennan began his practice as a professional
tax preparer with his family's tax firm in 1976.
Prior to moving to Florida in 1999, Mike was a major
partner in a multi-state wholesale distribution firm
and a small business owner in North Carolina where
he also served as an Adjunct Professor at the local
community college. Since moving to Florida in 1999,
Mike has been involved as the lead coordinator for
the payroll departments of 2 major, multi-state corporations.
As a result, Mike understands the needs of self-employed
small business owners and professionals, having been
a small business owner himself.
For the past 5 years Mike has practiced as a tax
preparer and as an Enrolled Agent since being specially
licensed by the IRS in 2003. As an Enrolled Agent,
Mike is licensed by the US Treasury to represent
taxpayers before all levels of the Internal Revenue
Service in all 50 states and US taxpayers in foreign
countries.
The primary focus of Mike's practice is state and
federal tax problem resolution. His experience includes
representation of taxpayers before the Examinations
Division and Appeals Division of the IRS, representation
of taxpayers before the Florida Department of Revenue,
the North Carolina Department of Revenue, the California
Excise Tax Board, and the Oklahoma Tax Commission. |
